1.     Eat a breakfast at The King’s Wark

An institution in Edinburgh! After a wild night out, this is hands down the place to recover. The atmosphere is very warm and their breakfasts are well known for being the very best of Edinburgh. A must go!

2.     Go out at Sneaky Petes

If you like indie music, you have your place! Even if the club is quite small, the vibes going on there are worth the visit, as well as the line up which is always really varied and will suit most tastes.

3.     Go back in time to Prohibition

A must visit for any student studying in Edinnburgh. At Panda & Sons, you’ll enjoy your whiskey in the basement of an authentic barbershop.

4.     Play 36 historic holes

If you like playing golf, this one’s for you! The Bruntsfield Links golf course turned 255 last year so you will enjoy golfing as well as the historical bit. Hole in one!

5.     Go to a cat café

If you’re a fresher and you didn’t make lots of friends so far, maybe you’re in need of affection. We’ve got this sorted for you. At Maison de Moggy, you can have a drink and pet cats at the same time.

6.     Chill out and watch a movie

Forget about classic cinemas. At Dominion, everything is made to make you feel at home. From, old leather sofas, to footrests, you’re even encouraged to take your shoes off.

A couch for two people is £22, so it isn’t cheap but it is definitely worth a try for cinema lovers (Ideal for date night)

7.     Amble down to the wild west

Have you ever dreamed of being a cowboy? Well, we got you! This alley behind Morningside looks just like John Wayne movies sets. It doesn’t cost a penny, so get your cowboy boots on and get pretending partner.

8.     Arthur’s Seat

No budget? No problem. Edinburgh’s most famous mountain is a good hike if you’re into it. Once you’ll be at the top which is 251m high, you will enjoy a fantastic panorama of Edinburgh. Good to be the king, isn’t it?

9.     Go skiing

Even if some years there is no snow in town, you still have Midlothian artificial ski slopes. It is £12 for an hour, but if you never tried skiing or if you miss it, put it on your bucket list.

10.     National Museum of Scotland’s Rooftop Terrace
Due to the very mysterious and maze-like presence of the National Museum of Scotland, this Rooftop can actually be very hard to find. However, once you navigate your way to the top of the building, the terrace welcomes you to some spectacular views of Edinburgh city and far beyond.
