Newcastle is hosting their annual restaurant week between the 17th-23rd January, and with over 70 participating restaurants there is bound to be something for everyone! With student loan dropping this is the perfect time for students to branch out and try new foods! Here is a list of our top 10 participating restaurants at this year’s Newcastle Restaurant Week!

Based in the heart of the Quayside this Indian restaurant will have 2 courses for just £15.

9. Zarabandana Bing Bing

The spectacular Zarabandana Bing Bing are offering 2 courses for £10, with a massive selection of dishes from seafood platters to gyoza or burgers. This will be the perfect place for you and your housemates to catch up after the long Christmas break.

8. Twenty Twenty

The newly opened Twenty Twenty will soon be a popular student favourite. During restaurant week they will be serving a tasting platter for £15 per person, including pizza, popcorn, nachos and a drink!

7. The Exchange

Newcastle’s very own speakeasy is worth a visit for the experience alone. Behind the traditional red telephone box they will be serving 2 courses for £10 with options including tacos, mac & cheese and cheesecake.

6. The Muddler

The Muddler will be serving 3 small plates for £15, consisting of an enormous selection of foods such as teriyaki chicken, mushroom bao or spicy peppered squid. If you’re eating here don’t miss out on the opportunity to try unique Asian infused cocktails.

5. Aveika

Aveika are offering 2 courses for £10 during lunchtimes or £15 during dinner. With a variety of Japanese dishes this will be the perfect place for Newcastle or Northumbria university students to celebrate finishing January assignments and exams!

4. Tomahawk

With views overlooking the quayside Tomahawk will make a perfect date night. Providing 3 courses for just £15 including their famous steak making it an absolute bargain for students hoping to save the student loan whilst serving a bit of class!

3. Zucchini

The region’s first fresh pasta bar will be participating with 2 courses from £10! At Zucchini, they hand roll all their fresh egg pastas on site which is a huge contributor to their great tasting dishes. Can you even call yourself a student if you don’t love pasta?

2. Revolution De Cuba

The authentic Cuban cocktail bar and restaurant will be offering a feast of any 3 tapas with guacamole, chips and bread for £15. Making it the perfect place to try a variety of Latin inspired food and tapas!

1. Holy Hobo

Of course this student favourite had to be number one, serving a massive variety of dishes from burgers to kebabs or grilled cheese for 2 courses for £10. When eating here be sure to also try a few of their cocktails, the bubble-gum daiquiris are a fan favourite!
