Cheap Cocktail Recipes Students NEED To Know



After reading this blog post there will be no need to pre-drink on that cheap wine again, you’ll be able to impress your friends with tasty cocktails without having to spend huge amounts. These simple recipes will earn the respect of your housemates and friends and you will never have to live off the bargain beers again!

To start, it’s usually best to use a cocktail glass but if you don’t have one, don’t worry as wine glasses will do! (a useful tip is to chill the glasses before).


1.      PINA COLADA

Ingredients: 

-60ml white rum

-30ml coconut cream

-30ml single cream

-200 ml of pineapple juice. (you can vary the ratio of pineapple juice to alcohol depending how much fun you want to have!) 


Method:

Pulse the ingredients together and then pour into the glasses…  If you don’t have a pulse machine don’t worry it still tastes good just mixing all the ingredients together in a glass.

2.      MOJITOS

Ingredients: 

-1 lime into quarters 

-handful of fresh mint leaves 

-2 tbsp of sugar (to taste) 

-crushed ice

-Soda water or lemonade

-white rum 60ml (measurements can vary depending on how strong you want it)    


Method:

Put the lime, mint and sugar into a glass and crush so that the juices mix together. Add the ice and then pour the rum over it. 

Lastly add the soda water or lemonade depending on how sweet you like your mojito.

3.      WOOWOO

Ingredients:

-50ml peach schnapps 

-50ml vodka 

-100ml cranberry juice

-Handfull of ice cubes


Method: 

Super simple, just mix the ingredients all together, adding the peach schnapps and vodka first then the cranberry juice. Mix well then pour over ice!

4.     VODKA SUNSET

Ingredients:

-50ml vodka 

-75ml orange juice or pinapple juice 

-75ml cranberry juice  

-1 lemon, cut into wedges 


Method:

Put the ice into a glass. Add the orange and cranberry juice together. Then add the vodka and stir well. put the lemon on the side of the glass to serve.

5.      STRAWBERRY DAIQUERI

Ingredients:

-60ml white rum 

-15ml fresh lime juice 

-1tsp syrup 

-6 medium-sized strawberries (washed) 

-ice


Method:

Add all the ingredients in a blender and pulse. Add more or less strawberries to your taste requirements.

6.  BLUE LAGOON

Ingredients:

-50ml vodka

-25ml blue curacao liqueur

-Lemonade


Method:

Fill the glass with ice cubes. Pour the vodka and lemonade into the glass stirring thoroughly. Then drizzle the blue curacao over the mixture.

7. CHEEKY VIMTO

Ingredients:

-A bottle of WKD Blue 

 -50ml port 

-25ml vodka

-Ice


Method:

Put ice into a jug and then add a bottle of WKD with the port. After stirring this in add the vodka and stir again. Thats it!

8.  WHITE RUSSIAN

Ingredients:

60ml Vodka

2 tbsp of Kahlua or Baileys® Coffee Irish Cream Liqueur

1 tbsp cream (top up as necessary)


Method:

Add all the ingredients together and stir well. Pour over a glass filled with ice.

9.  SEX ON THE BEACH

Ingredients: 

-10 ml of Peach Schnapps

-35ml vodka 

-35ml Cranberry Juice

-35ml Orange Juice


Method:

Mix the Peach Schnapps and vodka together and pour into a glass filled with ice. Then top up with cranberry juice and orange juice.

10. THE GODFATHER

Ingredients:

-45ml scotch wisky

-15ml amaratto whisky


Method:

Pour the ingredients over ice in a glass and stir well.
