Student Cribs Limited (“Student Cribs”) is committed to the prevention of modern-day slavery and human trafficking within the company and all regions in which the company is active. Therefore, we endeavor to uphold the core principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 within the company’s activities and relationships. This statement sets out the actions that we have taken to understand potential modern slavery risks related to our business and our supply chains, and to implement steps to prevent modern slavery.
About us
Student Cribs (company number 07247566) is a provider of high-quality student accommodation to thousands of students across the UK each academic year. We have over 85 employees.
Our supply chains include Marketing and Media, Cleaning Companies, Estate Agencies, Outsourced Service Provisions, Software, Insurance, Recruitment Services, Utilities. We have assessed the risks in relation to modern slavery and human trafficking which fall under the following categories: the sourcing of construction material, by suppliers and certain goods, and the provision of manual labour in cleaning.
Legal Compliance: We commit to adhering to all application laws, regulation and national standards pertaining to modern slavery, including the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Zero Tolerance: We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery within our organization and work closely with our business partners to ensure compliance. We will not engage in, support, or tolerate any form of modern slavery.
Due Diligence: We work closely with all our suppliers and business partners, and we expect them to uphold the highest ethical standards and comply with relevant laws and regulations within the jurisdictions they operate in. Suppliers who are found to have been engaging in any human trafficking and slavery will be liable to have any supply agreement, arrangement or other contract with Student Cribs terminated immediately, without compensation.
Training: To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chain and our business, we provide training to our staff.
Policies and Procedures: The company reflects its commitment to the prevention of slavery and human trafficking in the following ways: paying staff fairly for their work, paying staff above the National Minimum Wage and acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships. We have adopted numerous policies within our business to help combat unethical or inappropriate practices within our business or business relationships. These policies include our Anti-Money Laundering Policy and our Anti-Corruption and Bribery Policy.
Recruitment: Recruitment takes place through direct advertising on our website, reputable agencies and referrals from employees within our company. New employees are subject to security checks to ensure they are genuine applicants operating as free agents. These checks include verification of identity, right to work in the jurisdiction where they are employed, references and evidence of qualifications.
